It is generally difficult to identify a specific substance in a solution, which contains high concentrations of other interfering substances, without getting a high rate of false positives. The invention in this patent helps in reducing this problem by using more than one signal to identify and detect a substance in the mixture (signals such as electrical, optical, acoustic etc). This reduces the errors in identification and could be useful in diagnostic applications.
